The fine folks of Estonia speak several languages. 40% of them speak Russian. (I don't, but my dad is fluent in it & he taught me to say 'I don't speak Russian' and 'Do you speak English,' which is ever so handy.) And as everyone knows, where there are Russians, there are accordions. So, I decided to cart mine along for the trip. Seeing as the voice and the accordion are both wind instruments, I figured that practicing one might help with the other--sort of the "wax on, wax off" approach to vocal conditioning... I also thought it would do me some good to practice my musical stylings in front of strangers, as I will do on October 5, so I walked out to the city center and setup shop. Although I'm slightly afraid that I offended a few aficionados, I met some very lovely people while tickling the ivories...
